Script to Screen: AI Storytelling for Black Women Creators

Course Pacing
Over three live sessions, we’ll move from story concept to animated cinematic creation.
Week 1 (Nov 2): Story & Script Foundations — Explore storytelling structure, script formatting, and character development. You’ll begin transforming your written ideas or memories into visual scripts.
Week 2 (Nov 9): From Page to Frame — Learn to visualize your scenes through shot composition, framing, and direction. We’ll explore how to plan and shoot short sequences—even with minimal equipment.
Week 3 (Nov 16): Edit, Enhance & Share — Discover simple editing techniques and how to use AI to streamline your creative process. Wrap up with our “Show & Tell” session, where students share projects and receive live feedback.
Each 2-hour class includes guided lessons, interactive practice, and open Q&A time with breaks to reflect and recharge.

Not at all! This course is designed for beginners and emerging storytellers. Whether you’ve written in a journal or shot a few clips on your phone, we’ll guide you step-by-step through scripting, filming, and editing.

You’ll need a computer, internet access, and a basic video editing program (we’ll recommend free or low-cost options). Since this class explores AI storytelling, you’ll also invest in a few AI tools at the most cost-effective levels, we’ll guide you on exactly which ones to use and how to get started without overspending. No advanced tech skills required, just curiosity and creativity!

Yes! All live Zoom classes will be recorded and shared exclusively with registered students, for a limited time, so you can rewatch, pause, and practice at your own pace.

No worries, life happens! You’ll have full access to the replay and class materials, plus a space to submit your work and questions for feedback.
